Ultrasound
Ultrasound is a safe, radiation-free imaging method that shows various organs. Ultrasound systems use high-frequency sound waves to create images that help doctors evaluate anatomy.
During the ultrasound exam, a technologist applies a warm gel and moves a wand-like transducer over the area of concern.
Scan times are typically less than 60 minutes.
Preparation For Your Ultrasound Study
For certain ultrasounds, you may be asked to fast or to have a full bladder prior to your exam. Please contact the imaging office for instructions.
